Side note: Sharing a washer and dryer with people isn't that bad as long as you do your laundry when nobody else is doing theirs. People seem to throw their clothes in the washer or dryer and forget about it for a few hours. That few hours will make you crazy when your waiting to do yours. That's why I usually do ours on Monday mornings, but since we were up early and had time we thought why not. I just haven't gotten to the point where I've been mad enough to take other peoples clothes out and throw them on the counter. (Seriously, people do this) This is also the reason that I set a timer for my laundry and run downstairs the second it goes off. I don't really want mine or Andy's underwear out there for everyone to see.
After breakfast and laundry, Andy and I went to the gym. Tomorrow if we decide to walk over to the gym we are putting on our ice skates. Our parking lot in front of our apartment is completely iced over. I'm not naming any names but someone might have busted their butt. His name starts with an "A" and ends with a "Y" and rhymes with "CANDY." But really I'm not making fun because he could have really hurt himself...I'm just trying to get the point across of how icy it really is out there.
We survived the work out and I came back and got a call from Leanne. (Our new couple friends) We were supposed to go over to their apartment tonight to watch the super bowl but because of all the snow, the Metro is not running and neither are any of the buses. Andy and I decided it was definitely not worth the risk of driving over there either. We would feel completely foolish if something happened on the way. Anyways...the point. As we were getting off the phone I mentioned that Andy and I are walking in to Georgetown to go to Georgetown Cupcakes to see if there were any of the top secret (FREE) cupcakes left. Leanne said they actually had the same plans and we decided we would meet up. So Andy and I got ready and rushed to Georgetown.
I might make this trip to Georgetown sound easy but EASY it was NOT. The roads are completely flooded with melted snow and the sidewalks have mounds of snow piled up that are taller than me. (Short jokes are not appropriate here.) They really were huge. So it was either climb mountains of snow or wade through the water...we opted for wading through the water. This would have been fine if I would have listened to Andy and worn my galoshes, (appropriate shoes for wading through water) but no...I wanted to wear my brown UGG boots because they matched my outfit and blah blah blah. So my feet got soaked. (If I wouldn't have been so afraid of climbing the mountain of snow and getting lost in it forever I would have, trust me.) So anyways, we continued because I said there was no way I was going back without my FREE cupcake.
A while later we got there, in one piece. I took a couple of pictures along the way because snow makes everything beautiful. :-) We also happened to get to Georgetown Cupcakes before they ran out of their 100 FREE cupcakes of the day. Which seriously made my day. :-) After we met Leanne and her other half at a little restaurant/bar. We chit-chatted for a while and later parted ways. :-)

After we got home we enjoyed our delicious Cookies&Creme cupcakes and were very happy people. Oh...after mentioning FREE cupcakes a bajillion times I should probably mention what's up with that. The other day I was told that if you follow Georgetown Cupcakes on Twitter that they post a secret flavor of cupcake every day and if you get there and are able to tell them (plus if you are in the first 100 people) you get that cupcake for free. It's a win win situation. So I immediately started my own twitter account. I'm not saying I'll ever use it for anything else but hey I'm all about FREE dessert.

I finally understand why people run and work out like crazy in DC. It's not because they want to be the healthiest city..it's because people throw desserts at you for FREE all the time! First Godiva chocolates, now cupcakes. We will be fat kids before you know it.
Tonight's plans are to stay in, stay warm and watch movies. (We have Time Travelers Wife, and Couples Retreat) YES...girlie movies!
