Crepes for dinner!

1. Saute ham.

2. Mix ingredients to make the dough.

2. Cook the crepe in a pan on medium heat with either pam or butter.

3. Have Mexican cheese and jalapenos handy.

4. Heat all ingredients inside the crepe and fold the crepe in half once the cheese starts melting.

5. I served mine with a side of sour creme and of course a glass of milk.

My first attempt at a beehive :-)

I thought this was cute and fun! :-)

Nail Polish!

Left to right:
Myrtille, White On, Lime Freeze, (Sephora didn't name the next 2 so I will) Cranberry Crush and Turquoise Fusion.

This is Turquoise Fusion, I love it! It looks a lot more turquoise when it's actually on your nails. ;-)

I made some new earrings!

I really liked these for summery outfits..the white and silver are so pretty and light!

I really loved these black and white buttons. The texture is great! I can definitely see wearing red and black and wearing these earrings with it! Go Dawgs!

I did slice open my finger while making these. I had to break off the back and after getting impatient trying to file down the remains of the button piece I decided it would be a good idea to just take an exacto knife and just cut the last little bit off...instead of doing that I sliced my thumb open and had to soak blood up for a good 20 minutes. I would do that of course so lesson learned..I'll stick to the sand paper. I really have to work hard to hurt myself with that. ;-)

Hair ;-)

Andy and I watched An Education tonight and it made me want to learn how to do this kind of an updo. I love it! It's so pretty!

Better late then never????

New York was amazing...It was a very quick trip since we only stayed 1 day but it was so much fun and I can't wait to go back. Our group was able to meet a few buyers/merchandisers plus have a couple hours to ourselves in smaller groups. This was my favorite time because we didn't have a crowed of 50 moving in one direction together. This makes it a little easier to not get stared at by everyone in the city.

The most interesting and most told story from the trip was that of three young ladies....lets just name them Jennafear, Scarrie, and Jessdontleavemeica. After having a lovey time away from their very large group they were trying to make it back to the bus. Even though it was raining they stood on the side of the road with their arms waving around in the air trying to hail a cab. NO SUCH LUCK.

With only 15 minutes to go before their very punctual teacher would start to threaten to leave them in the big city, by themselves, with out food or shelter...they quickly started to panic. WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO.

Here comes a young man on a bike and behind him he's pulling a cart covered in plastic. He says jump on in, I can take you where you need to go. With no other options in sight the three girls hop in. FIRST rule, ask how much the ride is going to cost before you hop in.

So there they were being pulled in a small very breakable cart thingy that is squished between all the crazy drivers in New York City. The operator of this contraption has no fear and takes many risks on the journey, as he pulled them through traffic and up hills. This was definitely the scariest ride of Jennafear's life EVER. Even though they were scared they decided they must use this rare opportunity for a photo op. After twisting and turning they got the camera. Their hands were full of Starbucks so they decided that's what they should take pictures of. Plus Jennafear had a lovey red velvet cupcake waiting in a box in her hand and was patiently waiting to scarf it down..the ride was a little bumpy and their was already coffee flying everywhere. After the ride finally came to a stop the girls requested a picture in the cart and asked how much they owed him. $13 dollars a piece???? Waaaaa???? They could have taken 3 cab rides for that. Since he decided to gauge them for their hard earned money they decided to waste his time with more pictures.

After more pictures...they get out...

and look around, this is not where we are supposed to be, all three girls exclaimed in unison. It was 6:00pm on the dot. They should be on the bus right now, GGGGREEEAAATTTT. They decided since they are obviously no where near the bus they should start calling the very punctual teacher, really it's the only thing they can do. She does not answer, does not answer, oh finally there is an answer but the very punctual teacher's only words of wisdom are "GET HERE, OR WE ARE LEAVING YOU!" Crap, Crap, Crap...Jennafear does not want to be left in the big city. She wants to go home to her sweet boyfriend and her bed, not a box on the side of the road. In a panic all three girls begin running, after looking at a couple of passing street signs they notice they are going the wrong way, so they turn around and run the other way. Coffee is flying everywhere, it is becoming quite the obstacle, so they dis-guard the remains. Jennafear is very scared and sprints in the direction of the bus, Scarrie, and Jessdontleavemeica come running behind.

THEY MADE IT!!!! YESSSS!!!! They are soaked to the bone in rain and in coffee but they made it.

After being on the bus and only 8 minutes late they are scared of the very punctual teacher but decide the only way around this is to tell her their adventure. After telling the tale with fright in their eyes the very punctual teacher laughs at them and forgives their lateness.

THE END!

I can't wait till I have time to update about:

New York!

Our sushi and Wii date with Leanne and Dave!

Adam's visiting us this weekend!

I made delicious German pancakes. Which are called "Pfannkuchen" in German. :-)

The end to finals!

Plus...just life in general!

But all of that will have to wait until next week when finals are over and life is back to a normal hectic pace.

:-D Later

Dear Mr. Bunny,

I know you are pretty busy this time of year and requests are not usual for this occasion but I thought I'd try anyways.

See this year I have decided that I should not up my intake in sugar unless it's for a cupcake. Since cupcakes are a little hard to hide in a basket, I have come up with some alternative things that you could hide in mine.

I love these pastel colored tights:
They will be great to wear under pretty spring dresses and skirts while it is still too cool to go out with bare legs. Plus Mr. Bunny...I am seriously white and I don't see a tan in my near future. So these could also help prevent accidental blinding to those around me.

They can be purchased on the website http://www.welovecolors.com/ The style # is 1053. Also if you enter in WHATIWORE in the gift code it gives you free shipping and handling and 10% off the order price. Not bad Mr. Bunny, huh?

Lilac:

Pastel Mint:

And...

Pastel Colored Nail Polish:
I'm really loving the yellow and blue!

These can be purchased at lots of stores:
Target, Sephora, Ulta, and most drug stores.

These are just a few suggestions. No pressure Mr. Bunny! Thanks for reading. ;-)

If you have any questions about these items, just let me know. Thanks and happy hiding. :-)

Love, Jenn

Strawberry...

Today I was a sweet girlfriend and brought Andy home a strawberry cupcake on my way back from Georgetown. Isn't it so cute???

This is what we do...

These were the left over spaetzle. I sauteed some ham and onions and threw them in. I lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and wah-lah...another delicious meal.

My Mom told me about this, she used to fix it for us when we were little goobers and from what she says we loved it.

You serve it with apple sauce. As I did when I was a kid, I mixed it right in and enjoyed. :-)

This is another easy breakfast that Andy and I are enjoying these days. It's rice pudding, toasted sliced almonds, and fresh strawberries. Almost like a dessert...almost. I think it's better for breakfast though, I'll still be eating chocolate for dessert. :-)

The first step is admitting you have a problem....

So here I go...
I have an addiction to Georgetown Cupcakes , cupcakes. Whew...that wasn't so bad. ;-)

Yesterday while at work I thought it would be a great day for a cupcake of the day at Georgetown Cupcakes.

I joined Twitter a few weeks ago just so I would get the update on what the free cupcake of the day is.

So anyways, since I do have the internet on my phone I decided well heck, why not just check twitter and find out what the flavor is so I can walk over and get one. To my surprise, I have forgotten my password to my Twitter account. Seriously I have all of my passwords written down for everything and this is exactly why. I forget ALL of my passwords that I ever create. If it wasn't for continue to stay logged in options on websites I would have to look this stuff up every day.

Instead of saying...I probably don't need to eat a cupcake anyways. I decided to call or really text for backup. I text a couple of friends to see if they could find out what the flavor of the day was. Of course because I had tried numerous times to log into Twitter, with a bad password my phone was almost dead. I decided I should still try. About 15 minutes later...one of my friends from school text me back with the flavor! Woo-Hoo!

There I was on my merry way to pick up my delicious FREE cinnamon cupcake. I was also asked to pick up a coffee and I figured I should get a tea that I could enjoy with my cupcake.

They ran out of bags so I ended up having to carry a box with my cupcake in it plus two hot beverages back to the store. I walked about 10 feet before I spilled hot coffee all down the front of my WHITE jacket. Oh boy! I had at least three more blocks to walk back to the store but I decided I might as well just keep going instead of stopping and getting napkins from somewhere.

Back in the store I walked in with my goodies and my coffee covered jacket. I went in the back and cringed because I knew this was going to be the end of my lovely white jacket. I got a paper towel from the roll and wiped the coffee...holy cow, what did the dry cleaner use on this jacket last time it got dry cleaned because it literally just wiped up and didn't leave one little spot.

This is when I knew that I might have a little cupcake addiction but I decided that it was A'Okay because everything worked out just fine.

It was delicious btw. I didn't even give the cupcake a chance to have it's picture taken before devouring the entire thing in three bites. Maybe I'll go back next week, but skip the coffee. Yeah...that's probably a good idea. ;-)

:-)

I started out my morning with a run through Georgetown. It was kind of a run for two purposes, I needed to get pictures of window displays so I could finish one of my projects this morning and also to get some exercise. I'm glad I've got one project out of the way. I also got some pretty picture's of the Potomac River. It was cold and windy but an absolutely beautiful day. :-)

After I went on a search for Micheal's to get some art supplies for some of my projects. Since I know there isn't one in walking distance I decided to drive. This is literally the second time I've driven in the last 2 months that we've lived here. That still seems so weird since I used to drive everywhere. I really like walking places though, it's just so easy. No worrying about parking, or paying for it, or getting gas. It's wonderful. :-) Back to my point, I got a little side tracked.

I decided to just drive around to try to find the Micheal's and ended up finding an adorable little German grocery store. When I first drove up I thought it was just going to be one of those little German restaurants that sell..."authentic German food" that's well not really authentic at all. But I gave them a chance anyways and walked in. It was like walking into a German grocery store. I called my Mom right away and told her about the Gem I found in the city. I really wish she could have been here to go in with me but I'll just test out all the products until she comes to visit. :-)

This is their business card.

The wonderful things I ended up walking out with were: Gelbwurst, Landjager, Bauern Brot (Bread), and Schweinebraten.(Gravy for pork)

When I got home I had a second lunch because I couldn't wait to eat a Gelbwurst sandwich. :-)

After all of that I just couldn't help but take a study break to make more Spaetzle, pork, and broccoli for dinner. I asked Andy if Spaetzle two weeks in a row was too much and he said "no way, you can never have Spaetzle too much." That makes me happy, I'm glad he likes them as much as I do.

Tomorrow I'm using the leftovers to make another meal that my Mommy was telling me about today. :-)

Mexican Quiche: Quick and Easy!

Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Put pre-made pie crust into pie pan and fold over edges. Poke bottom of pie pan with a fork. (I either buy the Safeway brand or Pillsbury depending on which one is on sale at the time.)

Step 3: Bake pie crust for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Get out my handy-dandy recipe notebook for the filling recipe. (I've been collecting recipes for a long time and if I like them I put them in this notebook so when I want to make it it's easy to find.)

Step 5: Saute ham, green peppers and onions.

Step 6: Mix 4 eggs, 1 can cheddar cheese soup, 1/2 a cup of whipping cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 7: Chop jalapenos. (We like them HOT)

Step 8: Mix all fresh ingredients (ham, onions, green peppers, and jalapenos) into mixture in bowl. (cheddar cheese, whipping cream, eggs, cheddar cheese soup)

Step 9: Pour mixture into partially baked pie crust. (I like to add extra shredded cheddar cheese to the top, it browns nicely and gives it a little extra texture.)

Step 10: Enjoy your quick and easy dinner! (It can also be served with salsa)

MIA

Sorry I have been MIA for the last week, life has been busy.

The week was filled with classes and work and the weekend was filled with work and fun. Friday night I closed the store at 9:30 and after I walked over to Papa-Razzi to meet Leanne and Yasmine for a couple of drinks. They have delicious sangria so that's what I ordered. :-) We didn't stay out too late since we were all tired from the week but just enough to have a couple of drinks and a few laughs. Seriously they had me cracking up the entire time. Funny girls. :-)

Andy was also invited out by Leanne's fiance but he was really just too tired and decided that going home and relaxing was going to be the way to go for his night.

I spent Saturday at work until 3. After, I walked home and Andy and I got ready to go to the National Portrait Gallery in DC. Before we went in we decided to make a stop at Five Guys for burgers and fries. They were absolutely delicious and worth every calorie. After stuffing ourselves with a late lunch we kind of walked through the gallery in a food coma. It was still fantastic but we didn't stay as long as we would have normally. But seriously..we live so close and it is free admission so there was really no pressure to stay longer.

Andy and I got home and watched a movie in German called "Good Bye Lenin!" We really enjoyed watching it together and after we listened to a German lesson because Andy and I so badly want to be able to speak German to each other.

That's it! Now it's Monday once again and time to finish all of these projects!
Only 3 weeks left of the winter quarter! :-D

I just liked her.

Awesome!

Devil in Casket with She Devil and Evangelist.

We thought this was great. HaHa

I love living in the city! :-)

On a side note...Papa-Razzi is the restaurant where Andy and I went on our very first date so it holds a special place in my heart. :-) Above is a picture from that night. Once upon a time...I had blond hair and convinced Andy that he didn't need to get regular hair cuts. HaHa... okay so we grew up a little bit since then. It was a really great first date. Our first date was followed by our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th date all in a 5 day span because that's how dates work when you live 600 miles apart.

Today...we eat like OLYMPIANS....at least that's what McDonalds says..

This is the kind of night it is...fries, chicken nuggets, a pickle and a big glass of milk.

I worked all day and came home to work on some projects, so I decided on an easy meal for Andy and I. :-)

Since we don't eat fast food, this is the next best thing. MMMM :-D

Saturday I came home to these....BEST BIRTHDAY WEEK EVER! ;-)

While I was at work on Saturday, Andy was at home baking up these raspberry brownies from SCRATCH. My boyfriend is pretty much the best. ;-)

Kelley sent me this for my Birthday!!!!

I am so excited about this bag! It's going out to play this weekend for sure! :-D

Thank you Kelley! I absolutely love it!
