I can’t feel my face!

So we woke up this morning feeling like a couple of popsicles in bed. Our apartment is old and so are the windows, we believe all that nice hot air that is coming through our vents is missing us entirely and just leaking outside. On the bright side this forced us to stay snuggled up against each other all night long. Sometimes it’s hard to snuggle when you are sticking together because it’s too hot. But seriously, we are excited about Andy’s parents bringing us the rest of our stuff on Thursday! We are going to sleep heavenly in our bed. :-)

The rest of the day didn’t quite go as planned but we made it work anyways. We got up and walked to Georgetown, which is about a 15 minute walk from our apartment. We needed to get some random stuff done like go to the post office and bank. It’s in the mid 20’s to low 30’s here but it doesn’t feel like it. Walking across the Key Bridge was freezing because the wind is pretty strong. The Potomac River was half frozen over which made for a great picture.

After we got back we decided it was time to do some cleaning and went downstairs to do some laundry. We are so happy that we have a washer and dryer downstairs in our building and don’t have to go to another building to do our laundry. This makes it much easier. We also started some dishes in the dishwasher. We were about to walk out to take the trash to the dumpster when we heard a weird noise come from the kitchen. There was a big gush of water shooting from the sink! Apparently when the dishwasher started draining it had no where to go and started shooting out of the sink. So the maintenance guy came back once again and fixed it for us.

Oh…one of the productive things we did today was put plastic over our windows in our bedroom so maybe it won’t leak out all of our hot air. So wish us luck!
