Is your mouth watering yet?

I'm sitting on the couch wrapped up in a cozy blanket with a cup of Ruby Red Chai tea and my love next to me. I think this might be heaven.

February 4th marked our 1 month anniversary of moving to DC and of starting our ridiculously busy lives. Not seeing each other as much and eating all of our meals apart has taken a little time to get used to, but it's all worth it for a day like this. We were so spoiled with Andy not working and being together every moment that I wasn't at school or at work in Atlanta. But seriously, that's not real life, so I'll stop whining now.

Today we woke up knowing that it would be a "snow day" and that we would not have to get up early. I would not have to eat my breakfast in a hurry, get ready, and rush to catch the bus to Georgetown. It was a sleep until you can't keep your eyelids closed anymore, snuggle and take your time with breakfast kind of morning.

After breakfast we bundled up to go play in the 20 inches of snow that was waiting patiently for us outside. It was absolutely amazing! I love snow, especially when it's fluffy and perfect. The still and quiet of the city covered in snow is absolutely amazing.We trekked over to the playground near our apartment and had a photo op. I just kept saying OMG..I love snow, I love snow!!! I've seen snow like this before but never where I lived, or at least not since moving from Germany. It was beautiful and I was very happy that Andy and I got to enjoy it together.

After we got home we decided today would be a great day for us to try out a little burger place that we heard about. It's called Rays Hell Burger, and supposedly it was the best burger in the VA area. We called to make sure they were still opening and they were. YES!!! We bundled up again to brave the cold and really it was easy because we both had an enormous burger on our minds.

Side note, I have no balance in snow what so ever. So basically it was a long walk of me tripping and falling into the snow. By the time we got there I was ready for a warm restaurant and a yummy meal.

The menu is set up as a build your own burger. First, you choose how you want your beef cooked. Andy and I both chose to have it blackened in Cajun seasoning. Seriously, how could that not be delicious??? You add Cajun seasoning to anything and it tastes amazing. Then we chose our toppings. I kept it pretty simple and just added jalapenos and pickles. (Lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mustard would be on the plate.) Andy got a little more fancy and added marinated mushrooms, jalapenos, roasted peppers, and Vermont white cheddar cheese. He also added the Rays Hell Sauce. We ordered a small side of regular french fries and a small side of sweet potato fries.

When we got our meals, we were so excited! First thing was first, I had to get a picture. So I could put it on this wonderful blog of course. The burgers were AMAZING! We decided the fries were okay but they don't compare to Five Guys Cajun fries even by a little bit. Next time I think I'll enjoy the burger with less of the guilt of also having fries.

Our walk home was the typical, I'M IN A FOOD COMA kind of walk. We got home and I pretty soon after feel asleep. I mean hey...eating that enormous burger is a lot of hard work and plus it's a snow day...so who cares?

So the rest of the day was spent relaxing, I was on my computer reading blogs and Andy played video games. We also watched the new episode of LOST that we missed Tuesday night. After we both got showers, I decided this would be a great time to get all dolled up. I'm a girl, I do these things. Sometimes it's just really fun to play with make-up. I also curled my hair put on a pretty black dressed and my best jewels! It was fun and this gave Andy more time to play his video games. ;-)

We are ending the day snuggled up on the couch with tea in hand and Lord Of The Rings on TV. :-) A perfect ending to a perfect day! We are hoping that tomorrow will be another "snow day", I'll happily go back to work and school on Monday. ;-)
